On second reading the council adopted multiple ordinances including a $600,000 capital appropriation for borough building improvements and new rules for Best Lake fishing, bamboo planting setbacks and short-term rentals; the council tabled refinements to a kratom/synthetic-product ordinance for further work.

During the Aug. 20 meeting the council opened and closed public hearings on a package of ordinance items. Councilman Gibbs moved to adopt Ordinance 26-11, appropriating $600,000 from the capital improvement fund for borough building furniture and improvements; the public hearing included questions about whether the line item covers the library shelving and furnishings. The motion passed on roll call.
