Janine Wachrich presented the Henry Vilas Zoo’s 2027 budget and emphasized maintaining staffing while finding efficiencies elsewhere. The zoo will pursue modest revenue increases — including a 25¢ increase to the training carousel — and reduce select operating lines, she said, noting the zoo remains a free public institution supported in part by GPR.
