The county attorney asked commissioners to add a third victim-witness position to meet growing caseloads and statutory notification and restitution duties. The county's portion of the next-fiscal-year cost was estimated at $26,523; the office will apply for a state grant (application due March 15, 2026) to cover the remainder. The requested start date for the position is July 1, 2026, contingent on grant approval.
