The Cedar County Commissioners on July 28 accepted the resignation of Weed Superintendent Justin Heikes, effective Sept. 1, 2026. The board then appointed Terry Jueden as the county's new weed superintendent at an annual salary of $16,000; the motion, made by Richard (Dick) Donner and seconded by Mike Meier, passed 3–0.
