District says student data in managed AI tools will be protected

Committee members asked how the district will prevent exposure of student data and what protections govern AI tools used in classrooms. Justin, the district's new director of IT, said the district uses a managed workspace and that student inputs are kept within the district's tenant: "The student data is protected. It's not, any anything they type in is not being used in the larger model for learning for for external," Justin said, describing the district's data-privacy arrangements with the vendor.
