Commissioner Watts led a detailed discussion of a proposed commercial vehicle 'way station' designed to inspect and weigh trucks and address safety on county roads. Staff and the commissioner estimated initial capital costs near $2 million and reviewed a neighboring county's quarter of receipts of about $48,000, from which a county typically retains roughly 40% (as much as 45% if payments are timely).
