Assessor says Stone Ridge MD#2 levy must be applied after district failed to certify; county to hold funds

At the Dec. 16 meeting, Assessor Jodi Amato told the Board of County Commissioners she must apply a 55-mill levy to properties inside Stone Ridge Metropolitan District #2 because the district has not certified its levy and is not in good standing with DORA or DOLA. Amato said the levy has been in place for more than 10 years and, while the board will not certify the district's levy, state statute requires assessors to apply it when a district fails to certify.
