Miami County approves T.R.A.S.H. recycling education program for elementary schools
The commissioners authorized the Boonshoft Museum of Discovery to offer the T.R.A.S.H. (Taking Responsibility at School and Home) program to Miami County elementary schools during the 2026–2027 school year, with per-program costs capped and an annual spending cap of $10,000 from Fund 437.

Commissioner Ted S. Mercer moved and Commissioner Gregory A. Simmons seconded authorization of the Boonshoft Museum of Discovery’s recycling education program, T.R.A.S.H. (Taking Responsibility at School and Home), for use by Miami County elementary schools and classes serving children with disabilities during the 2026–2027 school year (Resolution No. 26-08-832). The board approved the program by unanimous roll call.
