Communications staff briefed the board on discussions with a private tower developer (PSTC) and on a study that identified the potential need for three additional towers to improve public-safety radio coverage beyond the county's existing four towers. The presentation noted tower construction costs could range from about $1 million to $2 million per tower depending on site access and power costs.
