Administrators told the board Sept. 8 that the district expanded pre-K capacity this year by adding a classroom at Buxton Center and three community partner sites, and by increasing services for 4‑year‑olds with special-education needs. As a result, district officials said pre-K enrollment rose to 163 students this August, up from 93 in Aug. 2024; kindergarten enrollment increased to 222 from 213/218 in earlier years.
