Spring Lake council reviewed the State Board of Accounts audit covering 2021–2024, acknowledged three repeat findings (internal controls, financial-report formatting, and appropriations overspends) and submitted corrective action plans the board says the State accepted.

Spring Lake Town Council reviewed the State Board of Accounts audit for the period Jan. 1, 2021–Dec. 31, 2024 and agreed to accept the report without filing an official response. President Andy Swain summarized the review and said the board had decided not to respond formally: "we chose to not make an official response to the report, which kind of means we accept the report."
