The full story
City leaders approved ordinance 26-09 to adopt a major amendment to the Sandia planned-area development (PAD), a large master-planned community roughly 3,212 acres in size. Collier's Engineering representative Joe Horn and Ty Lasser of Lasser Investments described the amendment as a refinement to the existing PAD: the amended plan drops a previously proposed golf course because of water and market concerns, increases open space to about 481 acres, includes roughly 18 miles of trails and four community parks (about 166 acres), and slightly increases the maximum unit count from just under 11,000 to just under 12,000.
