Spring Town presenter seeks authority to advertise model floodplain ordinance, schedules public hearing
Mr. Steve Hing told the Spring Town Board the town must adopt a floodplain ordinance that follows federal and state model language, said the ordinance would affect only one lot inside town limits, and asked the board to authorize advertising and schedule a public hearing on ordinance 2026-3.

Mr. Steve Hing, introduced by the chair to brief the board, told members that "because you are a federal flood insurance community, you are required to have in place a flood ordinance" whose language largely follows federal and state guidance and leaves little local flexibility.
