During the public‑comment portion of the Aug. 18 board meeting, Mireya Millan, an enrollee at Ector Acceleration Academy, described how the district’s dropout‑prevention program changed her life and allowed her to graduate and pursue college and a career in nursing. She urged the board to continue supporting programs that help students reengage with school.
