The board voted to approve a resolution declaring transportation "impractical" for a group of students who meet statutory criteria (time and distance, cost, routing disruption, and other factors). Administration said the action is part of a larger routing review that cut routes through neighborhood cluster stops and other efficiencies. "When we looked at the entire picture, we had about 76 bus routes in 25–26... the next step is then look at the impractical and ineligible students to get the number down to the 58–59 routes which then gave us that $1.5 million in savings," a transportation official said.
