Council debates wetland-setback code changes, continues ordinance to allow staff revisions

Russ (Community Development staff) presented proposed wetland-setback revisions that would create three setback tiers (50 ft for large buildings/parking, 25 ft for streets or certain small public structures, and 15 ft for sidewalks/trails/stormwater features) with specific exemptions for boardwalks and delineated Army Corps allowances. He said the goal was greater uniformity and flexibility to allow necessary roads while trying to retain wetland protections.
