Supervisor urges public input as town considers rules for battery storage facilities

The supervisor raised an ongoing policy matter concerning battery storage facilities, telling residents the state-level conversation about utility classification is evolving and that local zoning needs to be set before applications arrive. "It hasn't yet been decided that battery storage facilities are quote unquote a utility, but it does certainly smell as though that's the direction they're going to go in in the state," the supervisor said, adding that the town attorney will be involved in framing local rules.
