The Burke County Board of Commissioners voted 3–2 on March 10 to approve a resolution requesting a Judicial Circuit Boundary Study. Commissioner Rodney Braswell moved to "approve the Resolution requesting a Judicial Boundary Study," a motion that passed with Commissioners Evans Martin, Braswell and Q. U. “Art” Lively voting in favor and Commissioners Terri Lodge Kelly and R. Tommy Nix opposed.
