City staff presented options to move the Destination Deerfield initiative from vision to implementation, proposing an activated development authority as a coordinating body. Tracy Wilds (deputy community development director) framed the problem: parcel‑by‑parcel redevelopment risks diluting the overall vision for a walkable, mixed‑use destination. "We know what we want Deerfield to look like...but how do we actually get there?" she said.
