District facilities and technology leaders presented a plan to replace the district’s aging security camera network with a cloud-native, AI-capable system. Craig McKe (buildings and grounds), Michael Wilson (director of technology and transportation) and Chief Roger Zaminsky walked trustees through a multi‑vendor review (Verata listed as top choice), demonstration testing and an RFP that will return with pricing and camera-location maps in September. The presenters said the current system is labor-intensive and that AI search tools could reduce staff time locating footage while enabling broader camera coverage.
