Parent urges update on ADA access at Big Thompson Elementary, cites district report
A TSD parent told the board that a 2019 removal of ADA parking at Big Thompson Elementary has not been resolved and quoted a district finding that 'Per ADA guidelines, the facility lacks ADA parking,' while also noting the district earlier concluded complaints did not meet TSD policy standards for discrimination.

Joanna Johnson, a Thompson School District R-2J parent and volunteer, urged the board for an update on ADA access at Big Thompson Elementary and described a multi-step written complaint process she initiated in March 2026. Johnson read portions of the district's written response and said the report acknowledged, "Per ADA guidelines, the facility lacks ADA parking." She said district decision-makers nevertheless concluded the allegations "do not meet the standards established by TSD policy regarding discrimination."
