Commissioner raises concern as Sunrise site plan drops housing component

During discussion of the B-188 DDA, Commissioner Piazza asked whether housing was included in the current plan and pressed staff on what the second-phase retail/commercial parcel might become. Staff confirmed the current schematic no longer includes housing and that the Phase 2 lot (about 4,500 square feet in the schematic) is being considered for retail, services or a small health clinic. The project team said the schematic and program continue to be refined through public outreach and that POIC’s program is the primary focus for Phase 1.
