The board approved Resolution 1229 to authorize the employment of agency-contracted speech-language pathologists under Education Code §44831 after staff explained persistent vacancies and a lack of qualified applicants. Director Vasquez (S14) and staff said the contracted SLPs will hold California licenses and master's degrees and will provide in-person services to students.
