Commissioners revisited HB 1434, the "Food Is Medicine" concept carried last session, which would direct the Department of Medical Assistance Services (DMAS) to seek federal waivers to implement targeted nutrition programs for select patient populations. A commissioner said the bill "would direct the DMAS to seek federal approval for the necessary waivers to implement targeted nutrition programs," and noted the bill left design details to DMAS.
