During the Oliver docket, a commissioner urged the commission to convert a $4 million one‑time appropriation for the Virginia Agriculture Food Assistance Program to $7 million per year in recurring funding to stabilize connections between local farms and food banks. "There's currently $4,000,000 1 time funding for this fiscal year. I'm suggesting we increase that to 7,000,000, per year, put it in as reoccurring," the commissioner said, asking the commission to endorse the change for FY28.
