Staff told the committee that Evidence Code §1010’s existing definition of "psychotherapist" lists certain trainee categories but omits social work interns. Roseanne Helms explained that the omission has produced uncertainty and that staff proposes adding social work interns to §1010 and referencing the statutory supervisor definition so supervisory qualifications are captured consistently.
