DCR staff and Dewberry consultants outlined the purpose of the Projects and Initiatives inventory, how the Coastal Resilience Web Explorer displays submissions, and the supports available to localities preparing updates for the 2026 cycle.

Emily Breen, resilience planner with the Virginia Department of Conservation and Recreation(DCR), opened the webinar and said the primary goal was to "provide you all with an opportunity to ask any questions you might have regarding the projects and initiatives update." Breen framed the inventory as a mechanism for communities to highlight flood-resilience efforts and said the Office of Resilience Planning uses the data to coordinate state-level support, technical assistance and programming.
