Grapeview—s superintendent disclosed a payroll error at the Aug. 26 board meeting and described steps taken to correct it and prevent recurrence. The problem stemmed from an employee assigned to two positions (six hours and four hours) that were coded as separate jobs in the ESD payroll system; the system did not flag combined hours, so overtime and proper hour allocation were not automatically detected.
