Staff presented charts showing members’ length of service at termination across pooled plans and tested whether benefit level changes the timing of departures. Doug (staff member) said restricting the dataset to members who terminated after a group joined the pooled plan removed the earlier 10-year spike observed in the broader data, and that “the bumps at the 5-year mark and the 10-year mark went away” in the restricted sample.
