Frankfort board OKs traffic-code changes near school, new stop signs in subdivisions

Trustees approved Traffic Advisory Committee recommendations to add no‑stopping restrictions on Highland Road near Chelsea Intermediate School and install stop signs in the Reserve of Copper Creek subdivision to improve school‑day traffic flow and neighborhood safety.

The Village Board on Aug. 3 adopted amendments to the traffic code based on the Traffic Advisory Committee's recommendations. The changes include establishing no stopping, standing, or parking restrictions on the east side of Highland Road between Sauk Trail and Gleneagles Court to improve flow and safety during Chelsea Intermediate School pick‑up and drop‑off. Trustee Leddin presented the recommendations and said the changes are meant to "improve traffic flow and safety during student pick up and drop off at Chelsea Intermediate School."
