ACSA says SCADA systems are not internet-connected and emphasizes operator control
Following national reports of cyberattacks on water systems, the authority told the board its SCADA and PLC systems are not connected to the internet and reaffirmed reliance on operators rather than remote automated control for chemical dosing and pump control.

In response to recent industry cybersecurity incidents, Executive Director Mister Castillo assured the board the Amherst County Service Authority does not have SCADA or PLC systems hooked to the internet and emphasized the preference for on-site operator control.
