Commission adopts multiple HB 33-mandated rule changes including PIO and active-shooter reporting requirements
The commission adopted several rule amendments required by HB 33 (Uvalde Strong Act): PIO assignment and certification timing, active‑shooter policy elements and equipment requirements for school campuses, reporting deadlines for active-shooter evaluations, continuing-education updates for supervisors and reserve officers, and a new emergency suspension rule for imminent threats.
