After two years of redesign prompted by new Division of the State Architect (DSA) requirements, the Robla board approved four change orders for metal and fabric shade structures; staff said deeper footings and other DSA rule changes required redesign and produced higher costs and schedule shifts.

The board approved four change orders for Recreation Project Services Inc. to complete metal shade structures at Bell, Glenwood, Robla and Taylor plus a fabric replacement at Taylor. Staff explained the work was delayed and costlier than initially planned because DSA requirements changed after the district’s original pre-check approval date (July 1, 2024), forcing deeper footings and other modifications that required re-submittal and fresh DSA approvals.
