Council reviewed Ordinance 26‑1873, which would add a definition of "data centers" to the zoning ordinance and impose a six‑month moratorium on new data‑center approvals while staff develops permanent regulations addressing environmental, health and nuisance concerns. The clerk explained planning staff will add a temporary definition and the moratorium is expected to take effect in October 2026 and expire at the end of March 2027.
