Board approves solar warning beacons at two school-area intersections
The Board approved installing six solar traffic-warning beacons on stop signs at Sycamore & Vine and Sycamore & First to reduce drivers running intersections near a school; the board accepted the staff recommendation to contract with American Sign and Signal Corp.

Zach Southerd told the board a resident had raised safety concerns near the school and proposed adding six solar traffic-warning beacons (red beacons mounted on stop signs) at Sycamore & Vine and Sycamore & First. "People apparently are running the intersections," Zach said when explaining the need for the devices. He recommended American Sign and Signal Corp and the board approved that vendor.
