Michael Gonzalez described significant progress on the underground storm infrastructure for the Elgin Forward project, telling 78621 Live listeners that crews have placed nearly 3,000 precast concrete structures — from large 5‑foot storm boxes to smaller units — and that the underground portion is about 80% complete. "We have big storm boxes of 5 foot and then down to the smaller ones... just about one at a time. And so we are observant of that or the crew that's working out there. And we think thus far, you know, just about 80% done with that underground portion of storm boxes," Gonzalez said.
