Pipestone County updates 2026 pavement projects as base issues raise costs
County Road & Bridge staff reported progress on 2026 seal coat and overlay projects but warned about poor base soils on several roads that could require alternate paving methods and extra funds.

Road and Bridge staff told the board the county’s 2026 seal coat and overlay program is underway, with a large stockpile of seal-coat aggregate already staged. The presenter said work has started in Trosky and on County Road 17 and that crews expect many of the current tasks to be completed within days. "If you drive by our yard, you will see the mountain of seal coat aggregate that he's stockpiling there," the staff member said.
