Board adopts routine VSBA policy updates, adds clarifying language on compensatory time
The board approved VSBA policy revisions covering legal references, public participation, procurement, bullying, student removal and staff time schedules; the GAA staff time schedule policy now includes a written-approval requirement for compensatory time for non-exempt employees.

Miss Martin reviewed the VSBA policy updates submitted to the board for approval. Most changes were routine edits for legal references and clarifications after the VSBA reissued some policies in August, she said. The board discussed the GAA staff time schedules policy in particular: the updated language clarifies that compensatory time may be approved only for non-exempt employees and only with prior written approval from the division superintendent to remain consistent with Virginia code governing compensatory time.
