Staff said Deschutes County plans to stop assigning city addresses after its address coordinator retires; La Pine is drafting a local addressing code. Staff also reported ongoing wildfire code work and said a dark‑sky ordinance is under consideration but unlikely before the departing planner's exit.

Brent Bybee told the commission that Deschutes County's address coordinator will retire at year end and the county plans to stop assigning addresses within La Pine. "We are in the process of updating our code to have our own addressing code, and we will be administering addresses for the city, I believe at the end of the year," Bybee said.
