Elk Run Heights council opens closed session under Iowa Code to evaluate individual's competency
At a July 1 special meeting the Elk Run Heights City Council voted 5-0 to enter a closed session under Iowa Code section 21.5(1)(i) to evaluate the professional competency of an individual who requested confidentiality; the council recorded that no action was taken in the closed session.

The Elk Run Heights City Council voted unanimously July 1 to enter a closed session to evaluate the professional competency of an individual at that person’s request. Council member Sallis moved and Council member Wilson seconded the motion "to open Closed session pursuant to Code section 21.5 (1)(i) to evaluate the professional competency of an individual whose appointment, hiring, performance or discharge is being considered when necessary to prevent needless and irreparable injury to that individual's reputation and that individual requests a closed session." The motion carried "Ayes-five."
