Fire Chief Jeremy Haddix told the council that two department personnel were sent south over the weekend to assist with response efforts related to Hurricane Helene and that the department was accepting donations for storm victims at Vincent Memorial and Freedom Baptist Churches and, for a limited time, through Linda Griffith at the Nutter Fort Post Office.
