Prosecutor wins wage-scale increase; board authorizes hiring at Step 3
The commissioners approved a 10% increase to the Deputy Prosecutor wage scale and authorized the Prosecutor to hire the selected Chief Deputy candidate at Step 3 during the Sept. 8 meeting; the prosecutor and auditor also recommended creating a civil deputy position for inclusion in the 2027 budget.

Prosecuting Attorney Ty Albertson asked the board to amend the Chief Deputy Prosecutor wage scale, presenting a comparison of like counties' salaries and recommending a 10% increase to the Deputy Prosecutor wage scale. By unanimous vote the commissioners approved the amendment and authorized hiring the selected applicant at Step 3 of the revised scale.
