An ordinance to apply for a short-term 0% loan to rebuild two 125-hp backwash pumps and convert them to variable-frequency drives at the water plant was advanced; staff said the pumps are about 35 years old and will be rebuilt one at a time to maintain plant operation.

Clerk read item 8 to authorize an application for a WSRLA short-term, 0% loan to rebuild two large in-line backwash pumps and the motor-control center at the water plant. Chris (S12) said the pumps are 125 horsepower each, roughly 35 years old, and currently start and stop on basic motor-control starters.
