DPW explains water cloudiness, reports phosphate readings and hydrant flushing

The DPW director said Webbervilles "limited treatment" system uses chlorine and phosphate (no filtration), reported an average residual phosphate of 0.63 parts per million this morning, and said crews flushed about 250,000 gallons of water to clear iron-related cloudiness; the director plans to slowly raise phosphate toward about 1.0 ppm.
