County reports Phase I environmental study at landfill site; multipurpose arena construction continues
Geneva County officials reported an environmental firm is performing a Phase I study at the landfill buyer's site and that multipurpose arena construction has progressed with roof installation, painting and conduit work; no new votes were taken on these items.

County Engineer Justin Barfield told the commission on Dec. 8 that an environmental company was onsite performing a Phase I study at the landfill property whose paperwork has been forwarded to the buyer. Barfield also reported that one driveway pipe has been installed and crews have been conducting brush cutting on County Road 4 since the last meeting.
