Chief reports juvenile robbery; codes and recycling contractor updates given

Police reported a juvenile group robbery on the 2100 block of Fairview Avenue with suspects identified and charged and one juvenile detained; Codes Administrator reported 36 open cases and several unpermitted constructions. Manager Ahrens noted Mascaro offered a one‑year recycling contract extension at a 2.24% increase and Mascaro reps will attend the June meeting.

Chief of Police Justin Johnson told council about a robbery on the 2100 block of Fairview Avenue in which a group of juveniles attacked and robbed a resident outside his vehicle at about 10:30 PM; all juveniles were identified and charged and one juvenile is to be detained at Abraxas Academy. The chief said that outcome—detention at Abraxas—was uncommon in the current juvenile justice environment.
