At the Sept. 23 meeting the board opened a public hearing on a special‑event liquor permit submitted by the Elbert County Chamber of Commerce for an event scheduled Oct. 10 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Kaylee Manoring, liquor licensing clerk, presented the application, said no comments or objections had been received, and recommended approval.
