The Park County Solid Waste Board voted July 16 to recommend that the county commissioners close the Smith Collection Site on weekends and pursue bear‑proofing and entry improvements before any long‑term change is made. The motion, made by board member David Matthews and seconded, passed by voice vote with Chair Tim Miller voting aye.
