Jamie Knecht, director of the Wayne County Conservation District, briefed commissioners on the district's work to protect water quality and support economic development, and the board voted unanimously to adopt a Conservation District Week proclamation. Commissioner Brian W. Smith called county conservation staff "very professional," and Commissioner James Shook praised Knecht as "a rockstar and a great department head."
