Darien launches instructional coaching pilot to support curriculum implementation
The committee heard an update on a newly launched instructional coaching program that embeds coaches in classrooms to support implementation, with five named coaches and a pilot targeting grades 4–5; leaders said coaching emphasizes job-embedded learning and data literacy.

District instructional coaching lead Dr. Buckner told trustees the coaching pilot has 'been a fabulous start' and emphasized the program's focus on relationships, job-embedded learning and supporting PLCs. Coaches named in the presentation are Betsy Pimbinal, Tara Brewer, Tara Bauer, Jess Mazzoni and Heather Reed; priorities this fall include supporting a 4th–5th grade pilot, working inside PLCs to examine student data and strengthening small-group instruction.
